Shearing fabric

In Fall 2009, Mr Christopher Kane debuted a collection which featured a number of pastel-coloured dresses with shearing fabric over them.

The collection was quite successful. Celebrities like Emma Watson was a fan of the collection and had been seen wearing one on the red carpet.

The success motivated other designers like Dolce and Gabbana to feature similar looking dresses in its last collection.

This season, American fashion house, Chado Ralph Rucci has opted for a more subtle use of shearing fabric over its dresses than Dolce did.

For those who want the look without the tags, it will be worthwhile to check out ASOS

From top left hand corner (Clockwise): Lipsy Loves Pixie Lott Dress with Chain and Fringe Detail (75 pounds); ASOS Peter Pan Collar Lace Waisted Dress (40 pounds); Rare Sheer Panel Maxi Dress (38 pounds); TBA Exclusive to ASOS Velvet & Mesh Prom Dress (135 pounds)

Unfortunately in Australia Zimmerman seems to be the only designer who has created a dress of this type and its dress is not that great either. If you are desperate to own the look however and have the cash, the dress will be there in Zimmerman shop now for something close to 500 dollars. Australian dollars that is.

Great work Rheza! I like it! I think Emma watson looks very robotic in that dress although the pastel colour goes very well with her skin. I personally prefer Rucci's; makes one look so graceful. Bad marketing choice by Zimmerman; they should have had a model wearing that!
